Rockin’ Robin!

This week’s edition was put together with a very heavy heart. Jim Seymour and Barbara Nicholas will always hold a special place in my heart. Both were dedicated, supportive and always cheerleading for Eureka and their students. They chose a profession in teaching and touched many lives along the way. For me, both were supportive outside of the teaching realm. After returning to Eureka, both offered guidance and later offered to share their gifts with our readers. Jim, an avid Tornado fan, opted to write a recap of Tornado football games for a duration. Barb had a gift for history and began writing history columns for The Eureka Herald in 2008. She loved doing this. I enjoyed our added talks and the random gatherings (although not enough) that we had to catch up. Our office hopes to feature some of your favorite history columns in the editions to come. Please let me know which ones were your favorites by emailing me at news@eurekaherald.com In the next couple of week’s variations of deadlines will be put in place to afford for time away. I’m beyond excited for what we have planned; but, would be lying if I wasn’t a little leery of still getting things done. However, it’s time for family time. I thank our readers and advertisers for their understanding as deadlines will be different and some items may be held for future editions. I contemplated skipping an edition; but, simply couldn’t do it knowing that The Herald has only missed one edition (due to the press being covered in snow) since it began.

Rockin’ Robin!

With hopes of raising additional money for two community organizations, Jamie Lindamood and myself have decided to do another round of the t-shirt design, to raise funds for causes we both feel passionate about. The image to the right was inspired by a former t-shirt fundraising campaign that was done in Eureka years ago. Myreka and Eureka Honors Club did the t-shirt campaign in 2022 and hope to fulfill another order this spring; but, this time the design will be added to a heather royal blue t-shirt.
