Eureka Lady Tornado senior Chazni Ptacek was born into a basketball family. Her passion for the game is evident and last Wednesday, January 13, Ptacek made the commitment to follow in the footsteps of so many of her loved ones as she signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Lady Bluejays of Tabor College.

On Monday of last week, family and friends of Amanda (Shelburn) Biering received tragic news. Their loved one had experienced a medical emergency. Despite efforts, Biering passed away at the age of 35, on January 4.
The first Greenwood County baby for 2021 arrived Thursday, January 7, when Madison residents Zachary and Ashton Clepper, welcomed their fourth child. Leo Zain Clepper was born at 7:48 a.m., at Newman Regional Hospital, in Emporia. He weighed 5 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 18.25 inches in length, at the time of birth.
