The Eureka Garden Club met for their first meeting of the year on Friday, Sept. 5, at TNT Catering. President Vicki Lindsey called the meeting to order. She expressed appreciation to Loria Howard and Rise Russin for serving as hostesses. Ten members and one associate member answered roll call. New committee members will be Cammie Wilson and Kathy Jackson: Mini Garden Committee, Sheila Hughes: Memorial Committee; and Carol Ann Flock: Courtesy Committee. Plans were made to have a Silent Auction in November and a Plant Exchange in April. Howard and Russin presented the program by having members share what they liked or wanted to see improved in the Mini Garden and their home gardens. 09/17/2024 11:00 PM

The Greenwood County Historical Society will host “Kansas Legends and Folktales,” a presentation and discussion by Jim Hoy on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Greenwood County Museum, 120 W. 4th Street, in Eureka. The first meeting of the Marshall Elementary PTA was called to order on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 5:35 p.m. at Marshall Elementary by President Beth Whitehead.
