LOLA “JOAN” OLSEN

Lola “Joan” Olsen’s life began on July 14, 1933 in Hutchinson, KS; the daughter of Arthur and Mae (Perkins) Lackey. She was united in marriage to Clarence Olsen on October 20, 1954 in McPherson, KS. She worked hard for her family as a school bus driver for Eureka Schools and also worked as a teacher’s aide. She enjoyed sewing and gardening in her spare time. Joan loved her fam ily and enjoyed her babies. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her loving family includes her children, Patricia (Tim) Toney of El Dorado and Jerry (Sheila) Olsen of Eureka; grandchildren T.R. (Tammy) Toney, Amber (Kyle) McLaren, Ryan (Sarah) Olsen and Tyler Olsen; and 9 great-grandchildren. Joan passed away on March 20, 2022 at her home. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents and 11 brothers and sisters. Friends may gather with the family from 12-1pm on Thursday, March 31 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 1pm. Joan will be laid to rest at Blankinship Cemetery in Rosalia. Friends and family are invited to the Rosalia Community Building following the burial for a time of fellowship.
