The Eureka High School girls continued their dominance in power lifting over the rest of the league by winning their fifth title in the last seven years, at the Tri-Valley League Powerlifting meet last Saturday, January 27. The two years they didn’t win it, they finished second. The boys claimed their highest finish ever by placing fourth. Each contestant gets three lifts in the Bench, Squat, and Hang Clean. Each contestant competes in a weight class and they place the top 6 for team points. Points are scored as follows: 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. These are lifts they work on during physical conditioning classes throughout the school year and during the summer.
