L loyd “Mike” E . Ryther

Lloyd “Mike” E. Ryther Jr, 73, passed away at Mercy Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Monday, March 19th, 2018, in Joplin, Missouri. He was born October 27th, 1944 to Lloyd and Vada (Lore) Ryther in Wichita, Kansas. Mike spent many years throughout his childhood in the Eureka, Kansas and later the Yates Center, Kansas areas. He traveled often but always called the Southeast Kansas area home. On April 23rd, 1966 he married Linda Tucker in Yates Center, KS. They later divorced. Mike enjoyed many aspects of life but his work in the oil fields, metal scrapping, and camp hosting were some of his most memorable adventures. He had a passion for camping, fishing, cars and his dogs. Survivors include his ex-wife Linda; his son, Rodney Ryther of Yates Center, KS; his three daughters, Debra (John) Hart, Christy (Steven) Doty of Ottawa, KS, and Krystal (Roger) Bogle of rural Bartlett, KS; 9 grandchildren Tyler, Erika, Moriah, Diamond, Prairie, Oakley, Christopher, Teri, and Joshua; and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceeded in death by his parents; Lloyd and Vada and 1 grandson Joshua Wylie. A memorial service will be held on June 11, at 2 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery at Eureka, Kansas.
