Julie Ann McIlvaine, 61, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at her home in Eureka, KS. Julie was born January 17, 1957 to Carolyn (Scofield) and Leland Huxford. They resided in Wichita KS where Julie attended and graduated from Heights High School. Upon graduation she was the manager of Riverside Mobile Home Park for several years. She was united in marriage to Loal Wilson and in this union two children were born, Shaun and Tiffany Wilson. In 1985 Julie and Loal parted ways and in 1986 Julie met and later married Michael McIlvaine, whom she remained with until the time of her death. The family moved to Eureka in 1989 where Michael worked for the city while Julie was a stay at home mom. The two later went on to own and operate Quality Concrete and Ready Mix and lastly, Sentry Pest Control. Julie was first diagnosed with cancer in 1990 and instead of letting that diagnosis defeat her; she let it fuel her desire to help others in her same position. She founded the Greenwood County Cancer Support Group and offered support to other cancer fighters for several years. Julie was an active member of the Eureka Music Club along with music director and youth leader at her local church. She loved the outdoors and was happiest gardening, riding horses, or cooking up the latest recipe. She is survived by her husband Michael of the home, her mother, Carolyn Scofield of Denver, CO, a brother Steve Huxford of Goddard KS and her two children, Shaun Wilson of Baltimore, MD and Tiffany Wilson of Strong City, KS. She is preceded in death by her father Leland Huxford. Cremation has been requested and a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice and/or Greenwood County Hospital and can be left with or mailed to the Funeral Home. Online condolences can be left at: www.countrysidefh.com.
