Cleta Nadine Dixon

Cleta Nadine Dixon, age 88, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Neodesha Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neodesha, KS surrounded by her husband and son, Kevin and daughter-in-law, Bonnie. Cleta was born November 30, 1929 in Vinita, OK. She was the daughter of Ray and Martha Akers Jackman and a sister to e brothers and 3 sisters. After her high school graduation, Cleta went on to become a licensed practical nurse, caring for people in their homes and also caring for the first iron lung patient at Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. On November 29, 1969, Cleta married Don Dixon in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Cleta became a member of the Severy Baptist Church in 1992 where she was faithful and active member. Cleta was a homemaker who loved to quilt and took many classes at the Needle in the Haystack in Severy, Kansas. She also loved to do ceramics. Her husband Don described her as a very loving mother and caregiver and that she had her hands full keeping him (Don) in track. She will be greatly missed in their home. Cleta is survived by her husband, Don, of the home, Son Kevin (Bonnie) Bunch of Haysville, KS, stepsons Donald Dixon, Dean Dixon, Dennis (Darcy) Dixon all of Wichita, KS, and David (Teresa) Dixon of Seattle, Washington and 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Lee Bunch, Brothers Roy Jackman, Guy Jackman, and George Jackman and sisters Evelyn Williams, Alice DeMott, and Cecila Weller. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Countryside Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Severy Baptist Church with Pastor Tony Pameticky officiating. Interment will be immediately following in the South Lawn Cemetery in Severy, KS.
