Three Arrested Following Stabbing In Madison

A mother and her sons were arrested after an altercation between roommates escalated to a stabbing.

According to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 120 N. 3rd Street in Madison during the early morning hours on Saturday, January 6, for a report of a possible stabbing.

When deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the victim, Steven Warden, they learned that he and his roommate, Harvey Burris, had been in a physical altercation. During the altercation, Burris stabbed Warden with a broken beer bottle in the left side of the neck and the back of his head. Warden was later transported to Newman Regional Hospital in Emporia and treated and released for his injuries.
