Eureka’s Camryn Hoover signed to play volleyball last Tuesday for the Lady Greyhounds at Fort Scott Community College (FSCC) next fall. Hoover knew at a young age that she wanted to continue volleyball action into her college years. She participated at club volleyball, attended numerous camps and has earned her chance to play at the collegiate level. Over the years, Hoover was able to attend camps at FSCC and fell in love with the campus, and the atmosphere that surrounds it.
This past year, Hoover was selected by her peers as one of three “most valuable players.” Hoover recorded the most digs, 285; best serve percentage, 95.6%; most good serves, 371 and most good serve receives, 435. She was also named to the Tri-Valley League Al lleague selection and Eureka’s All Tournament Team. The Lady Tornadoes finished the season with an overall record of 30-7 and a league record of 6-1. They were sub-state runner-ups, 2nd in league and 2nd at Marion and Circle tournaments.
