Participated In Annual Special Olympic Torch Run

The Greenwood County Sheriff’s office once again joined forced with law enforcement agencies across the state to carry the special Olympic torch. Last Thursday, May 31, Greenwood County deputies joined the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office and the Emporia Police Department in Madison. The group traveled south on K-99, and west on US-54 before making a quick stop at Eastside Service in Eureka for a group photo. The group continued to El Dorado, where they handed the torch over to Butler County.

Representing the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office were: Sheriff Heath Samuels, Undersheriff Randy Cox, Deputy Taylor Cordell*, K-9 Deputy Mike Miles* and Sergeant Mike Cordell*. Also representing Greenwood County was resident Jennifer Boles*. (An * denotes participate rode bicycle during torch run.)
