Home Dedicated To Hatchers

After nearly a year and a half, Eureka residents Elmer and Regina Hatcher can see the “light at the end of the tunnel.” The Hatchers were among many Eureka residents who lost their home during the July 7, 2016 tornado, but with the help of Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS), Great Plains United Methodist Disaster Relief, Growing Greenwood and the Greenwood County Long Term Recovery Committee, the Hatchers will soon return to their property in a new home. MDS, as well as Greenwood County inmates, have worked tirelessly for the past 3-4 months on the home. This home is the 10th project for MDS for the Eureka community, following the July 7, 2016 tornado.
