Construction Of 45x90x12 Storage Facility Began For Eureka District 389
Construction recently began at Eureka Junior Senior High School as crews began assembling a 45x90x12 storage facility on the cement slab that formerly housed the Community Activity Center (CAC).
This facility will be used to store items that were previously stored in the shed underneath the former home bleachers, and in the CAC building.
Eureka’s board of education approved the purchase of the steel building during their October meeting, after receiving a bid from Lester Buildings, in the amount of $49,623.
District voters will have the opportunity to vote during a special election, January 30, 2019, to approve a $7.5 million bond to improve the CAC by moving the facility to the west side of Eureka Junior Senior High School. The State of Kansas approved the question to appear during the special election and has allocated 24% or $2.7 million in funds if district voters approve the bond.
