To Compete On FSCC’s Rodeo Team

A Eureka Junior Senior High School 2020 graduate recently signed a letter of intent to attend Fort Scott Community College (FSCC) next fall and serve on the FSCC Rodeo Team.

Bailey Harrison has been competing in shodeos and rodeos since she could ride. Her favorite event is barrel racing, which is an event she has competed in the longest. “Don’t get me wrong, I love breakaway roping, but there’s just something about the teamwork that is needed to run barrels,” she stated. “I’m asking a 1,200 pound animal to run at top speed and then stop and turn on a dime. It’s an adrenaline rush like none other and I’m riding an absolutely amazing horse,” she continued. Harrison and Gus (her horse) have been riding together for just a little over a year. “My horse loves running barrels just as much as I do, which makes it that much more fun,” she said.
