Almost one year ago, Linda Hackler of Eureka, received the life-changing news that she was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a form of cancer that occurs when the blood-forming cells in the bone marrow are damaged.   Hackler moved to Eureka in 2002 and managed the Dollar General store for 16 years.
