Wilson’s love of antiques and items crafted with care, will soon be shared with the community in her new creative space. Growing up surrounded by history, in a home built in 1880, Wilson’s app reciation for antiques was fostered by her father.

City Of Severy To See Increase In Trash Service

EHS Class Of 1974 To Hold 50-Year Reunion
The Eureka High School graduating class of 1974 will be celebrating their 50-year reunion on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1. The classes of 1973 and 1975 are welcome to attend, as well as any teachers that taught the class. On Friday, the class will meet at Melinda and Lonnie Nichols’ residence at 404 N. Adams at 5 p.m. A Mexican fiesta dinner is being catered/served at 6 p.m. A fee will be charged per plate (single/couple). On Saturday, the class will meet at the Greenwood Hotel on Main Street from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Dinner is being catered/ served at 6 p.m. A fee will be charged per plate.

Local Students Selected To Attend 41st Annual Governor’s Scholar Awards Program
At the invitation of Kansas Governor Laura Kelly, Lyle Perrier of Eureka Junior/ Senior High School; Savannah Stroot of West Elk High School; Braden Jones of Hamilton High School and Brooke Gaines of Madison High School, were selected to attend the 41st Annual Governor’s Scholars Awards Program on May 5, in Topeka. Perrier and Stroot were able to attend the event, while Gaines and Jones had prior commitments.

Concluded Regular Season Meets At Remington And Humboldt
The Eureka Tornado Track & Field team competed at two meets at the beginning of May. With the cancelation of the Humboldt meet on May 2, the Tornadoes were able to join the contest at Remington on Friday, May 3. The Tornadoes then traveled to Humboldt on May 9 for Tri-Valley League action where several recorded a season’s best (SB). Eureka hosted 2A Regional action last Thursday and has four Tornadoes advancing to the state meet next week.
