Pam Cowley

Pamela Lou “Pam” (Huntington) Cowley of Eureka, died on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, at the age of 82. She was born on January 1, 1941, in Eureka, the daughter of Samuel Alfred and Phyllis Mae (Denchfield) Huntington. She was raised in Wichita and Eureka, graduating from Eureka High School with the Class of 1959. Following graduation, she moved to Emporia where she attended college at Emporia State Teacher’s College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education. It was there she met her future husband, John Cowley. Following graduation, they were married. To this union, two sons were born. The couple moved to Hiawatha for 3 years, then to Paola where she was a homemaker. In 1969, they moved to Eureka. In 1980 she went back to work and was the librarian at Mulberry Elementary, until she retired in the mid 2000s.

Marion Earl “Bird” Taylor

Marion Earl “Bird” Taylor of Eureka, died Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, at the age of 86. Earl was born August 15, 1937, in Greenwood County, Kansas, the son of William Earl and Hazel Lavone (Lee) Taylor. He attended local schools, and graduated from Tonovay High School.
