Sheryl M. Colwell

WICHITA - Sheryl M. Colwell, 86, retired Vulcan Chemical employee of 36 years, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2024. Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at Asbury Church, Graveside service, 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at Greenwood Cemetery - Oatville. Sheryl went to grade school in Elsmore and graduated from Climax High School outside of Eureka. Sheryl was a life-long Mason. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and was an exceptional gardener.

Preceded in death by his parents, James M. and Esther E. Colwell; brother, David Colwell; first wife, Carolyn Winn Colwell.

Survived by his wife of 62 years, Alice E. Colwell; daughters, Kimberly Colwell, Karen (Bryan) Anderson, Kay (Paul) Meyer, Kristin (Skip) White; grandchildren, Brian Merchant, Danele Gusse, Mikayla Anderson, Kaleigh (Cole) Kear, Tanner (Shelby) Wulf, Tyler (Piper) White, Kelsi White; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Snider, Deborah (Randy) Birk; brother, Larry (Betty) Colwell; numerous nieces and nephews.
