Roberta Lee Schouten

Roberta Lee Schouten of Spring, Texas, died on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Heritage Oaks Assisted Living Center, in Conroe, Texas, at the age of 78.

She was born in Seattle, Washington, on January 16, 1944, to Robert and Vivian Thoren, with one younger sister JoAnn. She married the love of her life, William D. Schouten on October 24, 1964, and soon after moved to Houston, Texas where they had two boys, Brent Alan Schouten, and Bryan Dean Schouten.

Roberta was very driven and passionate about everything she did, from running HR departments for fortune 500 companies to being a Team Mom for her son’s baseball games. She never missed an opportunity to support her family, friends, or neighbors. She and William loved and would care for any animal in need but had an overwhelming love and appreciation for Moose.

In her later years, she kept busy with annual elections, as an early voting clerk, sewing calendars for all her family & friends, as well as traveling and cruising with family, and friends.

Her smile and personality made quick friends and with her kind and loving soul, never lost them. She was truly one of the good ones and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. She was a true leader, setting the best examples personally and professionally. She loved unconditionally and was very proud of her children and their life accomplishments, but always had more pictures of her dogs than her boys!

She is survived by her husband, William D. Schouten of the home; sons, Brent and wife, Patty Schouten of Spring, Texas; and Bryan and wife, Sarah Schouten of Spring, Texas; six grandchildren: Kylee, Aislynn, Rheanna, Brad, Megan, and Jessica; eleven great grandchildren: Madison, Brooklyn, Emma, Sawyer, Braxton, Jaxon, Ally, Taylen, William, Lylah, and Harper; and sister, JoAnn Bell of Pearland, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Klein Funeral Home, Tomball, Texas. Interment will follow at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Piedmont Cemetery, Piedmont, Kansas.
