MILO MOORE

Milo Lloyd Moore, of Eureka, passed away on December 31, 2021, at the age of 88.

He was born July 8, 1933, at Piedmont, the son of Milo Quinn and Opal Satchell Moore. He attended schools in Greenwood County. Milo joined the Navy in 1952 and upon returning home was united in marriage to Mary Jane Mahar, of Eureka, on April 1, 1955. This union was blessed with three sons.

Milo loved to hunt and fish. He played softball and basketball and also coached and reffed for many years. He ran the chain for the Eureka Tornadoes football team for over 25 years. Milo was a dozer operator for most of his adult life, building many ponds, watersheds and oilfield pits. He also worked for EDCO and Teichgraeber Farms for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one son, Michael Quinn Moore; three great-grandsons; three sisters; and one brother.

He leaves to celebrate his life his long time companion, Sylvia Crum; two sons, John Moore and Leonard Moore and wife Leona, all of Eureka; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life is scheduled for February 12, 2022, at the Matt Samuels Community Building, from 10:30 a.m. - ?

In lieu of flowers and cards, donations can be made at the celebration of life, with proceeds going to the Eureka High School Athletic Department.
