Gloria Baldwin

Gloria B aldwin Gloria Jean (Cornish) Baldwin, of rural Eureka, passed away unexpectedly at her residence, on December 10, 2022.

Gloria was born November 17, 1949, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of John W. and Betty M. (Richardson) Cornish. Raised in Shawnee, Gloria graduated from Shawnee Mission North with the Class of 1967. Upon graduation, she worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo as an x-ray technician.

Her hard work and positive attitude caught the eye of the National Kidney Foundation where she eventually became a director, opening the Wichita branch. After a few years in that role, Gloria realized her true passion for sales. For the next 30-plus years her competitive drive helped her solidify a successful career in office equipment sales.

On October 1, 2011, she was united in marriage to David Baldwin in Eureka, where they made their home. Gloria was able to retire at their home in Eureka in 2016. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, friends, and horses. Every year she and Dave would travel across the country attending group trail rides. She cherished the times when family and friends visited their farm to get a taste of the Flint Hills on horseback. She was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

Gloria is survived by her husband, Dave Baldwin of the home; mother, Betty Cornish; daughter, Kim and husband, Kevin Anderson; son, Curtis and wife Kristen Coolidge; and granddaughters Jadyn and Olivia Coolidge; Dave’s son Tom, and wife Stephanie, and their children Samantha, Alex, and Cole; and Dave’s daughter Cassie, and husband John, and their son Connor. She was preceded in death by her father, John W. Cornish, and brother John H. Cornish.

Cremation has been effected and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Contributions may be sent in care of Koup Family Funeral Home, P. O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045, which is overseeing arrangements. Condolences may be left for the family online at koupfunerals.
