CHUCK MEADOWS

Charles H. “Chuck” Meadows, Jr., 68, of Eureka, died on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka.

He was born on December 31, 1952, in Emporia, the son of Charles Hubert “Harry” Meadows and Lois Louise (Evenson) Tomlinson-Meadows. He was raised in Emporia, and later Severy, when the family moved in 1964. He helped his father run their dairy there. He attended Eureka High School, graduating with the Class of 1970. He worked for Greenwood County Road and Bridge as a road grader for over thirty years.

On September 20, 1980, he was united in marriage to Kathryn Elaine Beedles in Eureka. They made their home in Eureka.

He was a member of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy of the home; one sister, Beth Ann Seimears of Derby; four half-siblings: Richard Meadows of Blue Springs, Mo.; Larry Tomlinson of Commerce, Okla.; Clarence Meadows of York, Penn.; and Wayne Meadows of Brandon, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two half-siblings, Samuel Harry Tomlinson, and Nancy Louise Howell.
