The September meeting of the Madison Recreation Commission (MRC) was called to order at 6:05 p.m. on September 20, by Jason Albert. Roll call was answered by Ty Gaines, Dylan Barnard and Jenn Boles. Also present was Paul Dean.

Eureka Junior High Volleyball hosted a tournament at home on Saturday, September 16. Match scores were as follows: Eureka A/B vs. Yates Center 23-25, 5-25; Eureka vs. Yates Center C/D 18-25, 17-25; Eureka vs. Douglass C/D 16-25, 2225; Eureka vs. Iola A/B 25-15, 9-25, 15-7.

Various State 4-H Results Announced For Greenwood County Participants
The annual Kansas State Fair was held earlier this month, with several results being released. Additional results, including livestock, will be shared at a later date.

Life Chain To Be Held October 1
The annual Life Chain will be held on Sunday, October 1, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the corner of River and Main Streets in Eureka. Life chains will be taking place in communities across the USA with individuals standing to witness their respect for human life and the unborn child.
