Eureka Took Charge Over Cherryvale; Won 63-48
Against Cherryvale, the Tornadoes ended each half blistering hot from the field and the charity stripe, effectively ending any chance Cherryvale had to pull out the win. The Chargers started hitting shots in the second half themselves, but the Tornadoes kept them at arm’s length with strong rebounding and good defense. Eureka’s leading scorer was Jace Nixon with 22 points. Laken Valentine had 15, Lyle Perrier had 12, Cole Adkins had 11 and Cole Ptacek added 3. On Saturday, Feb. 10, 4-H members competed at the Greenwood County 4-H Club Day. Greenwood County 4-H’ers showed their talents, skills, and abilities to qualify for Regional 4-H Days. In what was set to be a marquee Tri-Valley League (TVL) game between two league frontrunners, the Eureka Lady Tornadoes defeated the Cherryvale Chargers 73-65 on the road on Thursday, Feb. 15.
