Pool Director Being Sought For Eureka Aquatic Park
With the pool season fast approaching, the Eureka Recreation Commission (ERC) is seeking applicants for the pool director position at Eureka Aquatic Park. During their routine monthly meeting, last Wednesday, Feb. 28, ERC Chairman Austin Evenson shared that current Director Laura Neill had expressed she would no longer be serving in that capacity. Madison Bulldog Basketball Advances To Semifinals
The Madison Bulldogs basketball teams began their sub-state tournament with wins last week, as both the girls and boys defeated Yates Center. The boys (#3, 9-10) defeated the Wildcats 5817 last Thursday and advance to semifinal action against Colony-Crest #2, 10-9 on Thursday, Feb. 29, TBD. The girls (#3, 14-5) defeated Yates Center 62-21 last Friday and will face the Eagles of Olpe (#2, 15-4) on Friday, March 1, at 6 p.m. Both semifinal games will be held at Rosalia- Flinthills. The winners will advance to the championship round on Saturday, March 2, at Rosalia. Tornadoes Fell To Olpe Eagles
The Eureka High School boys finished their regular season with a 33-57 loss at Olpe on Tuesday, Feb. 20. The Tornadoes experienced shooting woes that hadn’t plagued them recently but, especially in the first half, led to the lopsided loss. The Tornadoes hit on only 16 shots from the field out of 63 taken. Most of the shots were open looks at the basket but they just didn’t fall. 02/27/2024 11:00 PM
