On Monday, March 25, the West Elk Patriot baseball team hosted their season opener against Oxford. To kick off the game, former West Elk Baseball Coach Dana Taliaferro threw the ceremonial first pitch. Following the pitch, a special announcement was made by West Elk Assistant Principal Chris Haag, “Coach, we are not quite finished and would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all that you have done for West Elk. Coach Taliaferro has been a tremendous teacher, athletic director and coach for many years. Lady Tornado Basketball Competed At 2A State
For just the third time in school history, the Eureka Lady Tornadoes competed in the State Championship Tournament on Wednesday, March 6 at the United Wireless Arena in Dodge City. In the opening round, Eureka faced the second seeded Pittsburg Colgan Panthers after drawing the seventh seed in the tournament. Although the Tornadoes had an excellent first half, they couldn’t recover from runs made by the Panthers in the third quarter. Eureka lost 50-66, capping off their 19-5 season. 03/12/2024 11:00 PM

The Eureka Recreation Commission recently announced the schedules for the 2024 Outdoor Soccer Season. Games will begin Monday, April 18.
