Tornado Basketball Fell To Bulldogs In Season Opener

The Eureka High School boys basketball team opened their season last Friday night with a 17-67 loss to the Independence Bulldogs. Playing the 4A Bulldogs, on opening night on the road, was a challenge the young Tornadoes were unable to meet. In spite of the lopsided score, however, the Tornadoes came away with some valuable experience that will payoff down the road.

Sport: Boys Basketball Head Coach: Al Brown 1st Year Assistant Coach: Pat Patterson The Eureka Tornado boys basketball team is looking to improve this year, with first year head coach Al Brown. Eureka has four returning letter winners with seniors Cole Adkins and Lyle Perrier, junior Laken Valentine and sophomore TJ Mills. Eureka finished the 2022-23 season with a 3-18 overall record.Also participating for the Tornadoes are: senior: Jace Nixon; junior:Tanner Biering; sophomores:Timothy Aguilar, Nate Clark, Davian Damron, Jean-Phillippe Guillaume, Kaleb Hollis, Ben Ketcham, Lane Ledford, Cole Ptacek and Jonah Werner; and freshmen: Tyson Coon, Kotah Davis, Luc Guillaume, Easton Mead,Tristan Milner and Cooper Roberson.

Sport: Boys Basketball Head Coach: Alex McNeal, 2nd Year Assistant Coach(es):Andrew Hurlburt Returning for the Bulldogs are senior Lane Darbro, juniors Colton Isch and Cade Hurlburt and sophomore Octavian Dean.The Bulldogs finished the 202223 season with a 12-10 record, finishing fifth in league with a 3-4 record and placing fourth at the league tournament. Roster: Seniors: Cohen Luthi, Hayden Helm, Gannon Pyle, Lane Darbro, and Teagan Brinkmeyer; Juniors: Colton Isch, Will Grimmett, Ethan Hall and Packer Bollinger; Sophomores: Lane Smith, Ethan Jones and Octavian Dean; and Freshmen: Braden Grimmett, Colter Luthi and Jax Adams.
