Tornado Basketball Placed Second At Marion Tournament
Throughout last week, the Eureka Tornadoes basketball team took part in the 12th annual Marion Classic, playing games against the Remington Broncos, Marion Warriors, and Berean Academy Warriors.
On Monday night, Eureka began their play in the Marion Classic by playing against the Remington Broncos.
Although the Broncos won the tip, Eureka senior Terik Crisswell scored first by making a free-throw shot. From here, the Tornadoes went on a scoring run, bringing the score difference to double digits off of a shot by senior Ethan Westerman. Even though Remington made a threepoint basket to cut the lead, junior Gabe Valentine continued Eureka’s 10-point run. Upon securing their double-digit advantage by the end of the first half, the Tornadoes never looked back, and soundly defeated the Broncos by a final score of 54-26.
