Nine Eureka Tornado Wrestlers Placed At Hoisington Corner Classic
The Tornado wrestling team traveled to Hoisington last Friday, December 20, where nine placed in the top three and earned a fourth place finish for the Tornadoes. Eureka finished with a team score of 105.5 behind Concordia 215, Hoisington 148.5 and Larned 128.
Eureka’s Brennan Lowe, a junior in the 152-pound weight class, and Sierra Miller, a junior in the 116-pound weight class, were named 2019 Hoisington Corner Classic champions in their weight divisions. Tornado sophomore Brody Harrison, 145-pounds, and junior Wyatt Ruest, 195-pound weight class, were named runners-up in their weight divisions and Tornado senior Caden Adkins, 113-pounds, freshman Zachary Hilton, 138-pounds, sophomore Garrison Spoonts, 170-pounds and freshman Oliver Wade, 285-pounds, placed third.
The Tornadoes will resume action on January
11. The junior varisty boys will travel to Independence and varsity girls and boys will compete at Burlington. Bouts are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. for all three events.
