Lady Tornadoes Named Co- Tri-Valley League Champions
The Lady Tornadoes varsity volleyball team finished their regular season last week as Co-Tri Valley League champions, along with Erie. By beating Neodesha last Tuesday, Eureka finished their season with a 6-1 league record, 23-9 overall. Eureka’s only league loss this season was to Bluestem. Erie also finished with a 6-1 league record, falling only to Eureka. After Eureka and Erie, Neodesha (5-2) landed in 3rd place, Humboldt (4-3) 4th, Bluestem (3-4) 5th, Cherryvale and Fredonia (each 2-5) tied for 6th, and Caney (0-7) 7th.
The Lady Tornadoes were seeded first for sub-state, which took place on Saturday in Fredonia (see related story).
To finish their regular season, Eureka played a triangular at Neodesha, against Neodesha and Yates Center. They beat Neodesha in two sets, 25-16 and 25-13, but fell to Yates Center 16-25 and 24-26.
Scoring for Eureka against Neodesha were Hailey Broyles 11, Chazni Ptacek and Mia Miller 3 each, London Hilton and Gracie Walden 2 each and Ava Perrier 1.
