Eureka Placed Third At Annual Tournament

Saturday, September 9, the Lady Tornadoes hosted their annual Invitational and finished 3-2 and in third place. They just couldn't get over the hump in the two matches they lost Saturday. The Tornadoes opened up against county foe Madison and got off to a quick start and finished strong winning 25-13. The Bulldogs put up a very good fight in the second set but Eureka put them to sleep 27-25 to win the match. Eureka stands 8-3 on the season and two of those losses have come at the hands of Olpe. Both matches have gone to three and Eureka has had their chances both times. Olpe got off to a quick start and never looked back, winning the first set 20-25.

The Tornadoes stormed back in the second set winning 25-23. The third and final set, Eureka got out to a lead but couldn't hold it as Olpe went on to win 25-22 to hand Eureka their second loss of the season.
