The days have gotten shorter and added to that, you may have noticed a sweet glaze of the Holly-daze. If you get that “deer in the head lights” look or feeling at this time of year, you know what I mean and you are not alone! Some people embrace this season and upcoming New Year with winter vacations, quality family time and long lived traditions. The truth is, according to the American Psychological Association, 8 out of 10 people will experience increased stress in the forms of anxiety and depression during their holiday season. Those are two unhealthy, “holly-dazed” guests on anyone’s list! Although the year-end holidays can be difficult or stressful at times, there are ways to minimize stress and anxiety while seeking JOY! in the festivities.
