Greenwood County History

These items are from an issue of the 1906 Eureka Herald:

"Sheriff Henderson had made an important capture near the Oklahoma border and the perpetrators of the Climax General Store and Post Office burglary were cooling their heels in the county jail." (note: don't know what date this occurred on!)

T. B. Baker, proprietor of the Greenwood Hotel, entertained the mayor, councilmen and the newspapermen at an elegant banquet, celebrating the establishment of the new sewer system in the city of Eureka. Mr. Baker's cup of happiness was apparently running over and the banquet was a token of his appreciation of the good work done by the city fathers in securing the much-needed improvement.
