Cool as a Cucumber

One way to beat the heat on a hot humid summer day is to stay properly hydrated. Although it is hard to accurately measure the exact water intake you can get from eating foods; fresh fruits and vegetable do provide about 20% of our daily total water intake. It is still very important to drink water and be selective about the beverages you consume when the temperatures rise.

Some very hydrating foods to consider are some of my summertime favorites like watermelon, tomatoes, cucumbers, pineapple, strawberries, spinach, peaches, grapefruit and baby carrots. Try preparing one of these new combinations or recipe to quench your thirst.
