NANCY L. HOWELL
Nancy L. Howell, of Eureka, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Nancy was born October 22, 1944 at Midwife Eva Hodgson’s home in Eureka, Kansas, to John and Lois Tomlinson.
In 1949, Nancy moved with her family to Emporia, Kansas. She attended Emporia public schools and graduated with the Class of 1962. After high school, Nancy attended cosmetology school and later became a dental assistant.
Nancy was united in marriage to Bernard (Tom) Howell on June 7, 1963 in Emporia, Kansas. Together, they raised three children: Tammy, Amy and Thomas.
Nancy loved baking, collecting recipes, making peanut brittle, crocheting, shopping, going to her club meetings, traveling to Minnesota, spending time at the lake, and gardening. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends and spoiling her nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and her two dogs, Bo and Suzie.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Tom, of Eureka, daughter, Tammy Owen and husband Dyton of Halstead, Kansas, daughter, Amy Jackson and husband Chris of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and son, Thomas Howell and wife Casey of McClouth, Kansas; nine grandchildren: Cody Klein, Corbin Klein, Logan Klein, Ashton Jackson, Hayden Jackson, Andersen Jackson, Zane Howell, Caden Howell, and Caden Silvas; three greatgrandchildren: Heidi Klein, Savannah Klein, and Landen Klein; brother, Larry Tomlinson of Commerce, Oklahoma, sister, Beth Seimears, brother Chuck Meadows and three step brothers, Dick Meadows, Clarence Meadows, and Wayne Meadows.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Sam Tomlinson.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association to support research to fight this terrible disease.
Due to Covid-19, a celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
