Mark William McMullen
Mark William McMullen, age 68, of Branson, Missouri, entered into Heaven Friday, March 8, 2019, at his home with his loving family gathered around his bedside after a three-year battle with cancer. He entered this world October 2, 1950, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Charlene (Brenton) McMullen and George McMullen Jr. Mark’s parents have preceded him in death. He was joined in marriage October 21, 1995, to Jere Beth Myers. Services and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
Mark grew up in Eureka, Kansas. Graduated from University of Kansas School of Pharmacy in 1973. For 40 years, Mark selflessly dedicated his life to serving the Eureka, Kansas community as their hometown pharmacist. He was an avid golfer. Mark even scored a hole-in-one on hole 3 at the Eureka Country Club. Being an outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing the old farm ponds and hunting pheasant and quail around Kansas. Mark had a deep love for KU basketball. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!! After moving to Branson, Mark and Jere joined the First Baptist Church of Branson. He continued enjoying golf and poker with his buddies. Most of all, his greatest joy in life were his grandkids.
Mark is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jere McMullen; son, Scott McMullen of Eureka, Kansas; daughter, Lora (Tad) Ogden of Marshall, Arkansas; son, Will (Amanda) Foster of Panama City, Florida; son, Cord (Allie) McMullen of Douglass, Kansas; grandchildren: Porter Ogden, Sawyer Ogden, Jasper Ogden, Willa McMullen, River Mc-Mullen, Theresa Foster, and Rachel Foster; sister, Marcia (David) Herpich of Overland Park, Kansas; sister, Rhonda (Jim) Boone of Eureka, Kansas; brother-in-law, Jeff Myers; niece, Raegan Boone; and nephew, Isaac (Heidi) Boone and their children Asher and Brylee.
A local visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 16th, 2019, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Branson, Missouri, with Pastor Jeff Wilcox officiating. On Saturday, March 23rd, a visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 pm with a service to follow at 1:00 pm at the Christian Congregational Church in Eureka, Kansas with Pastor Jeff Wilcox officiating.
