James W. Parmes
James W. Parmes, 78, of Fall River died on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at his home in Fall River.
He was born on April 19, 1941, in Teague, Texas, the son of James Parmes Sr. and Jessie Mae Waters.
He was raised in Teague and graduated from Forney Richardson High School. After high school, he served in the United States Army. He earned his associates degree in Ministry, from the Southwestern Christian College, in Tyler, Texas.
He was a bus driver for the City of San Francisco and City of Dallas. He retired from the City of Dallas transportation department in 2008.
He was united in marriage on February 14, 1991 to Jo Ann Bowens in Dallas, Texas. The family made their home in San Francisco, California, Dallas, Texas and later Fall River.
He was a member of the Severy Nazarene Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann of the home; five children, Willie A. Robison of Dallas, Idalia Welch of Dallas, LaJean Bowden of Dallas, Michael Tré Parmes of Leon and Kash Parmes of Fall River; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, November 1, at the Resurrection Community Church in Wichita. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Central Avenue Funeral Services, in Wichita.
