Candy Sales Will Benefit Eureka And Hamilton Special Education Programs

As in the past, the Eureka Knights of Columbus Chapter No. 7291, held their annual “Tootsie Roll” sales promotion to secure funds to support other community projects. Last week, local Knights of Columbus members presented two checks to area schools. On Thursday, Grand Knight Brook Mitchell and Kurt Seiter presented a check, in the amount of $237.08, to Hamilton USD 390 Superintendent Mike Ronen and Principal Stephanie Nelson. On Friday, Mitchell presented a check, totaling $301.72, to Scott Hoyt, Superintendent of USD 389 Eureka, for the Special Education Program.

Greenwood County Resident Named Shriner Of The Year

Noble Francis Chaplin of the Midian Shrine Center in Wichita was recently awarded the Shriner of the Year award by Potentate Robert Bair. Illustrious Sir Bair regaled the audience with Chaplin’s accomplishments over his 20 years as a Shrine member, focusing on highlights from this year and Chaplin’s five-year term as Midian’s Ceremonial Director.
