Straight Line Winds Caused Extensive Damage
Just a little over a year after an F2 and F3 Tornado devastated Eureka and the surrounding community, straight-line winds wreaked havoc in Eureka last Wednesday, August 16. According to the National Weather Service, the straight winds were in excess of 70 miles per hour.
Residents were again shown the devastation a storm could cause. Businesses along Main Street received broken windows and damaged roofs, but owners and employees took quick action to protect their facilities.
