Shakin’ For Jake Fundraiser To Be This Sunday

A fundraiser has been scheduled to help a local boy’s fight against cancer. On Sunday, April 15, Lo-Mar Drive In in Eureka will donate proceeds to the family of Jacob Raylan Murray of Toronto. Jacob is a three-year old who was born with Down Syndrome and was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). He began treatment last month and has had to forego his preschool classes at Yates Center Elementary due to the treatment and his lack of immunity. He will undergo a 6-block round of treatments with each block lasting about a month.

“He absolutely loves his brother 5-year-old Gauge, his dogs and his fish. He enjoys books, trains, balloons, bubbles, dinosaurs, and anything outdoor related,” said Jacob’s mom Jessica Murray. “He is a very happy boy who just loves to laugh and play,” she added. Jacob mastered walking last September and has been running and exploring ever since.
