Ready, Set, Donate!
For the fourth consecutive year, community members are coming together to share the Christmas spirit with their neighbors.
The Eureka Wellspring was formed in December of 2016 with a small group of willing volunteers and a few monetary and food donations. The group intended to assemble holiday meal baskets for 10-15 local families, but gained enough interest to help more than 30. Last year was no different, as the group of volunteers came together and provided a meal basket to 75 families in the area. Each family received a special gift filled with potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, fruit, a ham or turkey, and other goodies that were donated by area residents.
Members of Eureka Wellspring are currently accepting monetary and food donations, as well as applying for grants to help fund the project. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off at Eastside Service Station, located at 1500 E. River Street, Burke Chiropractic, located at 203 N. Main, or The Eureka Herald, located at 822 E. River Street, all in Eureka. Other drop-off or pick-up options can be arranged through the group’s Facebook page, “Eureka Christmas Wellspring” or by e-mailing EurekaWellspring@gmail.com. Monetary donations may be gifted through a GoFundMe page (https://www.gofundme.com/eurekawellspring).
