Payroll Concern Addressed By County Commissioners

Greenwood County Commissioners addressed an error in payroll during their weekly meeting that was held on Monday, January 7.

Following a 10-minute executive session to discuss a legal matter with county counselor Paul Dean, the Greenwood County Commissioners returned to open session with Commissioner Ben Fox reiterating that it was their intention for all county employees to receive the 1.4% cost of living adjustment (COLA) increase that was approved during their December 10, 2018 meeting. It was mentioned that Sheriff’s Office employees, Emergency Manager Levi Vinson and Mike Johnson didn’t receive the increase.

Commissioner Paul Hodge stated, “I just hope it wasn’t intentional.”
