On the day following last week’s general elections, Hamilton City Council met and briefly discussed the unofficial outcome. Three at-large council positions, currently filled by Joe Beeman, Luke Turner and Glenn Maltbie, along with the mayoral position filled by Scott Ledford, were up for grabs. Based on unofficial results, it was announced that Beeman, Maltbie and Ledford were re-elected for their respective positions, and newcomer Donnie Derryberry would fill the final council spot. A total of 10 people were written in for mayor, with Ledford receiving the most votes at 29. A total of 21 people were written in for the council positions. The councilmen and mayor will be sworn in for the next term at their first meeting of 2018 on January 10.
