Jackson, Ballard Named Republican Nominees For Vacant Commissioner Seats

Tami Jackson, of Eureka, and Roy Ballard, of Madison, will both appear on the November General Election ballot for the newly formed commissioner seats.

In November of last year, Greenwood County voters approved to redistrict the county and move from a three commission board to a five commission board. Governor Colyer signed a proclamation last month stating that both Republican and Democratic parties needed to nominate a candidate within 25 days of the proclamation. Independent candidates had 25 days to file a petition with 5% of eligible signatures. The deadline to submit the petition was Tuesday, February 5.
