It’s All Part Of The Job
The good. The bad. The ugly. It’s all part of any job. And, to be successful, you have to take each of them as they come. Ranchers across the Midwest did just that in recent weeks as severe weather added another element to their daily routines. For the first time in 30 years, the weather was the coldest it had been, for the longest time span, reaching -20 degrees. The drastic temperatures forced ranchers to bring livestock into their homes for warmth, do hourly checks and so much more. But, it’s all part of the job. Part of the industry that they have chosen to pursue and love.
It’s a family affair. Ranchers children, and even some furry pets, stepped up to the plate as calves were born during the freezing temperatures. In order to save these animals, ranchers put them in vehicles and even let them stay as houseguests, for as long as needed.
