Hess Pled Not Guilty To Drug Charges
Jennifer Hess of Eureka pled not guilty Thursday, January 9 to drug allegations. Along side Legal counsel Kenneth Miller, Hess appeared before District Court Judge David Ricke. Hess last came before the court on November 8, 2019 when she waived her right to a preliminary hearing. Following the waiver of a formal reading last Thursday, Miller notified the judge of an erroneous count. After he was addressed by Ricke, County Attorney Joe Lee stated that the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) report was not indicative of methamphetamines. Following this statement, Ricke dismissed Count 3: unlawful possession of a controlled substance; methamphetamine, without prejudice. Hess entered a plea of not guilty to the remaining charges: Unlawful Cultivation of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana; Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia x2; No Drug Tax Stamp; Aggravated Endangering A Child x2, Unlawful Possession Of A Controlled Substance.
