Hamilton City Council Held First Meeting Of 2019

In their first meeting of 2019, Hamilton City Councilmembers were read a loose dog complaint, learned about changes at the library, and designated a city attorney, treasurer, newspaper and bank.

The complaint was in regards to dogs running loose and getting into trash cans on 3rd Street, between Greenwood and Main Streets. The complaint was signed by Jared Baylor and Dave Harris. Councilmembers were aware of the owner of said dogs and Mayor Scott Ledford and councilman Lance Snyder volunteered to go speak to the owner this week. Due to the city’s lack of a code enforcer, Mayor Ledford stated, “I can go say something to him, but that’s all I can do.”

During the library report, board members Kara Nutsch and Alexis Ledford relayed that library director Kim Brothers resigned from her position on January 4. The board is currently looking for a new director, with applications available during normal library hours. They will be due on January 25. It was mentioned that with the hiring of a new director, library hours will be subject to change.
