Greenwood County Commissioners Recommend Residents Wear Masks In Public Settings
At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, Greenwood County Commissioners held a special meeting to discuss Governor Laura Kelly’s plans to mandate that Kansans wear masks in public, both in indoor and outdoor settings. Governor Kelly released orders on Thursday, July 2 mandating that masks be worn in all locations that social distancing cannot be followed.
In an effort to be proactive, Commissioners, alongside a few county residents, met to share their opinions on the matter.
Emergency Management Director Levi Vinson stated that a subsection of House Bill 2016 acts as a provision affording local governing bodies the ability to be less stringent than orders enacted by the Governor.
