Evergy Received Approval To Construct Substation

Evergy Engineer Chris Meyers attended the regular commission meeting on Monday, March 23 via video chat. Meyers reported having spoke with the zoning board a few weeks prior regarding the location in which the company intends to construct a substation. Evergy intends to purchase 20 acres of property on P Road. Myers noted that traffic will increase while the substation is being constructed, but will subside once the project is completed. The substation will allow Evergy to run a second feed, increasing the reliability of the line.

Commissioner Paul Hodge announced that one of the individuals who owns property adjacent to Christian Hills Bridge has agreed to sign a letter in support of the construction project to be submitted with the grant application. Road and Bridge Supervi
