Eureka Honors Club Recognized Top Six Students At EHS

A total of 27 Eureka Junior Senior High School (EJSHS) students were honored last Wednesday, July 15 during the fifth annual Eureka Honors Club honors banquet. The top six students in the freshman, sophomore, junior and senior grade levels were recognized. A tie in the freshmen class resulted in nine students being honored.

The annual event was held at the Eureka Junior Senior High School. Shelly Hoyt gave the invocation. Club members, honorees and guests were introduced, followed by the annual pin presentation.

Isaac D. Boone, son of Jim and Rhonda Boone, served as the guest speaker. Boone graduated from Eureka Junior Senior High School in 2006. Isaac grew up in Eureka playing sports and enjoying the outdoors. During his junior year in high school, he decided to pursue a career in pharmacy. In 2010, Isaac graduated with honors from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. He then completed his Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas in 2012.
